Real Women
Real Women
These are the women I truly admire.
Real heroines who faced real challenges.
Corrie Ten Boom
The love of Corrie and her family for Christ
and the Jewish people sent them on a journey to hell
on earth. Hiding Jews from the Nazis led Corrie to
prison and then to Ravensbrook concentration camp.
Of her entire family, Corrie alone survived the holocaust.
From the end of World War II to her death in the early
1980's Corrie served as a shining reminder of God's love
and forgiveness. Read about her inspiring story in
THE HIDING PLACE, or see the movie version on video.
Elisabeth Elliot
She and her husband Jim went to Ecuador as
missionaries, first to the Quichua Indians and then to
a savage tribe called the Aucas. Tragically, Jim and
four other men were speared to death by the very people
they had come to help. Elisabeth and her little daughter
Valerie lived with the Aucas for fourteen months after
Jim's death. Almost the entire tribe has come to Christ
as a result of Elisabeth's witness. Elisabeth is now an
author. Read her book, THROUGH GATES OF SPLENDOUR.
Elisabeth has a hero of her own, Amy Carmichael.
Read the biography about Amy which Elisabeth wrote,
A CHANCE TO DIE.
Joni Eareckson Tada
Paralyzed at the age of seventeen from a diving
accident, Joni now serves God as an advocate for the
handicapped. Joni is an accomplished artist and author,
and has her own radio program. Read her autobiography,
JONI, or her outstanding book, HEAVEN, YOUR REAL HOME.
Carol Everett
Carol had an abortion in 1973. As an abortion
clinic owner she tried for many years to justify her own
abortion by selling them to other women. Carol received
Christ as her Savior, and now serves God as a pro-life
activist. Carol gives detailed lectures on the sorrowful
events which take place in abortion clinics.
Read her book, BLOOD MONEY.
