Aquarian the LibrarianAn official position of the American Library Association is that underage children should have access to any and all library materials, including the internet, without restriction, regardless of their adult nature and whether or not the child has received permission from his or her parents.
The purpose of this site is not to ridicule or condemn librarians, but to take a more rational, progressive look at the preceding ALA position. Many librarians do not support the official ALA position and have taken measures to protect children from adult materials. These librarians should be commended for a stand which could possibly endanger their jobs.
