the "hiftbso" 7" is officially out of print.
i am no longer going to do 2 for 1 trades. i've noticed that some people on ebay are auctioning off boots, and i think if this keep happening that the next time they tour there will be good chance that recording devices are no longer going to be allowed.

rumor has it that sunny day may be playing kndd's deck the hall ball...this is just a rumor, but i wanted to let you anyway just so you people in the seattle can take a chance and hope they play. again, the details are: dec. 9 at the mercer arena. tickets go on sale saturday nov. 14 for $31.50. other bands playing are cake, hole, cherry poppin' daddies, elliot smith, mark lanegan, and garbage....thanks to anthony for the info.
the cybercast from liveconcerts.com friday night was actually the bumbershoot '98 show. there was technical difficulty with the house of blues show so it was actually never cybercast at all...thanks again to anthony for the info.

the cybercast from new orleans' house of blues will be re-broadcast at www.liveconcerts.com on friday, november 27 at 6:30 pm PST.
the show from the palace in la was cybercast at www.lalive.com . i didn't know about it so i missed it, but it will be archived soon, so keep checking thier web site.
if anyone can provide me with the setlists, opening acts, and/or reviews for the shows that i don't have them for please let me know...i would greatly appreciate it.

the sdre-l went down for good a few days ago... please keep checking ansigod's site or mine for news on it's return.
in jan. or feb. of next year the band plans to do the same tour over again, but do it backwards this time. shortly after this, there is a good chance they will begin working on their next album.
the magnet article complete with pictures is now up.
the reviews for orlando, atlanta, dallas, and phoenix are now up.

okay...sdre are not playing kndd's deck the hall ball...they are playing at the moore theater in seattle on monday nov. 23. tickets are on sale now!...thanks to anthony for the correction.
this sunday, nov. 15 at 9:00 pm pst www.liveconcerts.com will be broadcasting sdre's show from the house of blues in new orleans...thanks to karl for the news.
you can check out www.mtv.com for a little news brief on sdre. they mainly talk about the emo-core tag, but they also say that they will shoot a video for "pillars" during the first week of december!...thanks to todd for the news.
sdre are on the cover of magnet magazine. it's a big article with a lot of really cool pix. i should have both the article and the pix up this weekend.
this also comes from anthony schmidt..."i have now set up a #SDRE channel on irc (internet relay chat). the channel is on the EFNet. i have a bot ("Lizadrin") in there full-time, and a few people have started checking the channel out."

in the dec. 98 issue of alternative press it lists the top 90 albums of the 90's and hiftbso is #70! there's also a cool, but small, new pic of them in it.
got the boston setlist and reviews up.
if you don't know about ebay, it's an online auction site where you can find anything and everything. they have a lot of sunny day stuff on there recently, so if you want something, you should check it out at www.ebay.com .

here's the scoop on the nov. 7 and austin shows..."No show on the 7th and the Austin one was cancelled. Why? Because Jeremy's voice suffers near the end of a tour and in addition we had too many shows in a row there. He really needs to let his voice heal every few days. The only reason Austin was chosen to get the axe was because tix had not yet gone on sale. The band made the decision while on the last tour."...thanks to janna for the update!

the diary lp should be available this week and it is limited to 2000 copies...thanks to greg for the info!

here is a couple of tour updates...to the best of my knowledge...the pittsburgh show that was scheduled for nov. 7 has been cancelled and the austin show on nov. 16 has been delayed until jan. '99.
the interview with jeremy from the dec. 98 issue of musician magazine is now up.

lawrence stuff...dan and joe both do backup vocals...dan on "in circles" and "roses in water" and joe on "guitar and video games"...they may do more than that, but that's all i remember. joe is not officially in the band yet, that will be decided after the tour when they start working on the new album. it'll depend if he can create as good of bass lines as he can play. the whole thing about palmer quitting due to contracts and such is true. in MY opinion i wouldn't at all be surprised if we see sunny day on a major label in the future. they said there have been major label people at a lot of their shows showing A LOT of interest and i believe the band seems pretty interested as well. they're not playing a lot of the lp2 stuff because the whole thing is such a bad memory to jeremy...however, it is joe's favorite album so he is pushing them to play more of those songs. they don't and won't play "two promises" live so don't bother asking or even asking why...it's none of our business.
a new tour date has been added...11/07/98...the metropol club, pittsburgh, pa. the show starts at 7:30 and tickets are not available through ticketmaster...thanks to David Graham <Requiem28@aol.com> for the news.

hiftbso debuted at #135 on the billboard's top 200 charts this week!!!
setlists and reviews are up for the chicago show...apparently dan and joe are both doing backup vocals on the tour...i'll be able to give you details after i see them in lawrence, ks THIS saturday nite!!!
there is a small article in the nov. 98 issue of cmj new music monthly...pillars is also on their cd sampler.

cleveland and detroit show reviews and setlists are now up.
dan is working on an anthology of short stories, tentatively titled "little grey monkey", where the monkey is the main character. it is about 45 pages and chris thompson is illustrating it. thanks to Phillip Sidney Horky <phorky@umich.edu> for the news.

sunny day's new bassist is joe skyward from the posies... joe "bass" is just his nickname. here's the deal with jeff...he got "burnt" by a band before, so thist time he wanted a contract that gave him $2500 a week for the tour...well, for the entire tour each member will only get about $2000 profit, so jeff's request was obviously not practical at all.
the oct. 7 show from the metro in chicago will be cybercast on the internet...yeah, i forgot the url, so as soon as i find out, i'll post it (please let me you know if you know the address).

sunny day played philly last night and i'm posting the reviews as soon as they are sent to the sdre-l. the setlist is now available in the 1998 tour section.
a performance by sunny day was broadcast on kndd 107.7 the end last night...their new bass player's name is joe bass and he is from the posies...they played "pillars", "guitar and video games", "pillars", "roses in water", "j'nuh", "every shining time you arrive", and "the prophet". i don't know when this was recorded, so let me know if you do.

jeff palmer is no longer a member of sunny day...due to other commitments he will not be touring with the band. they have joe from the posies filling in on the tour and they will look for a permanent replacement after the tour is over. don't worry, joe is already learning both the old and new songs and will be prepared for the tour.
well, i got all of the images from hiftbso scanned but my pix page is not working. i talked to the guy who got me the cgi script and he said it happened every now and then, so if it doesn't fix itself in a few days, i'll change it.
added the hiftbso songs to the song of the week list.

dallas, tx and phoenix, az tour dates added!!! i'll definetly be at the dallas show. it's at deep ellum live which absolutely rocks! i saw green day there about a year ago. it's a cool small club that will be a lot of fun.

the hiftbso vinyl has been pushed back to sept. 22 just like the c.d., however, the diary vinyl will still be available to everyone on oct. 8...it will not contain all of the tracks on the c.d. and cassette just like the original limited edition release.

started the news section today.
added some new tour dates and also added venues to the old ones.
the brand new limited edition (to 3,000) "how it feels to be something on" 7" is now available from sub-pop...the b-side is "bucket of chicken" which is the song originally slated to be on the 2nd crow soundtrack that everyone often referred to as "the crow".
diary will be re-released on vinyl and is due sometime in october, a limited amount of them will be on blue marble vinyl.
the release dates for hiftbso are still: sept. 8 for vinyl and sept. 22 for cd.
