NOTABLE CHARACTERISTICS OF LAKE OR FISHERY: Ellsworth provides the best fishery for large blue and flathead catfish in southwest Oklahoma.

HABITAT TYPES STATUS AND IMPROVEMENTS:Flooded timber is found throughout the lake. Approximately 11 buoyed fish attractors have benn constructed by the ODWC. There is rip-rap on the dam and railroad bridges.

MANAGEMENT STRATEGY:Continue saugeye stockings and occassional hybrid striped bass stockings. Trapnetting for crappie and night electrofishing for saugeye should be conducted in fall 1995. Additional cedar trees will be added to the existing fish attractors.

OTHER COMMENTS:Saugeye fishing is becoming increasingly popular at Ellsworth Trophy hybrid striped bass are present, but rear.
